Trump is optimistic of sweeping tax, spending bill
(MENAFN) President Donald Trump signed a wide-ranging tax and spending bill on Friday, describing it as a major step forward for the country’s economy.
Dubbed the "One Big, Beautiful Bill," the legislation was presented during a Fourth of July military family gathering at the White House.
"This bill will fuel massive economic growth and lift up the hardworking citizens who make this country run," Trump stated during the event.
Expressing optimism about the bill’s future impact, he added, "after this kicks in, our country is going to be a Rocketship, economically."
Portraying the legislation as a fulfillment of his campaign agenda, Trump emphasized: "We made promises, and it's really promises made, promises kept, and we've kept them. There's a triumph of democracy on the birthday of democracy."
He went on to declare a new chapter for the nation’s prosperity. "The Golden Age of America is upon us. We are in the golden age. It's going to be a period of time the likes of which I don't think this country has ever experienced before."
"We're going to make America great again," he concluded. "It's happening very fast."
The bill had narrowly passed in the U.S. House of Representatives the previous day, securing approval with a 218-214 vote.
