Trump praises record, unveils new payment for military families
"I inherited a mess, and I'm fixing it. When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say in the history of our country, which caused prices to be higher than ever before," Trump said. He argued that the Biden administration had allowed an “invasion at the border,” bringing in millions of migrants and raising housing costs.
During the address, Trump unveiled a new $1,776 “Warrior Dividend” payment for US military families, symbolically referencing the nation’s founding year. He noted that the funds for the payment would come from tariff revenues and assured that “the checks are already on the way.”
The speech, running nearly 20 minutes, was framed as a celebration of the administration’s achievements and a preview of future initiatives.
