Ke Ala Hou, A New Path Forward — November 2026 Governor’s Message

Thanksgiving is a time of quiet reflection and remembering all we should be grateful for. As I reminisce about the events of this year, I acknowledge and am thankful for everyone’s perseverance and resolve to serve the people. From disaster-driven hardship to every day services. As we head into the holiday season. I will continue to work harder than ever to create a Hawai‘i where our future generations can succeed. This is only made possible with your support.
As recovery efforts continue following Hurricane Lala and Lowell, our administration remains committed to supporting Hawai‘i residents to the fullest extent possible. The two Major Disaster Declarations that were approved last month and FEMA’s Public Assistance Program has helped cover the larger percentage of recovery costs. And continued legislative support will help us get the community back to where it should be.
My vision for Hawai‘i’s future remains steadfast, which includes strengthening our economy, reducing homelessness and increasing affordable housing. We have seen significant progress with the opening of new affordable housing options for seniors and working families and this work must continue.
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, I want to express my gratitude for your ongoing efforts to serve our communities. Let’s continue to work together toward making Hawai‘i the home where we can all thrive.
